Sharing Space: Tzipporah Johnston, Neuk Collective -Understanding & Embracing Neurodiversity

Tzipporah Johnston from Neuk Collective joined us with a presentation in December 2022 as part the Sharing Space learning programme for those working on Remembering Together: Co-creating Covid Memorials.

Neurodiversity is a liberatory way of understanding neurological differences like autism, ADHD, dyslexia and similar. However, the theory of neurodiversity is relatively new, and organisations don’t always know where to start when incorporating it into their work. In this workshop we’ll introduce some of the ideas and language of neurodiversity, and explore why you should, and how you can, embrace neurodiversity and neurodivergent communities in your work.

About Neuk Collective

Neuk Collective is a group of neurodivergent artists founded in 2020, with the aim of supporting neurodivergent creatives in Scotland through advocacy, education, and community-building. In 2021 they published the Neuk Manifesto, a ten-point plan for a more inclusive art scene, along with a practical guide to supporting neurodivergent artists in the workplace.
